You know what. I’ve been thinking. Marathons suck. But I have never done anything worthy of a good story, except going to Germany, but that doesn’t count. Leaving for Germany is filed under getting married, and getting married is a life event. No, I want to do something that not everyone can say they have done. You know like one of those things that you say you will do before you die. Yea, I want to run a marathon. Everyone knows that I have A.D.D. and I jump from one thing to another. I think my brain just needs to be stimulated constantly or i will go crazy. I have this site, I want to start another blog, I want to do an online web comic… there’s plenty more things I have going on, but non are as important as Izzy and Ciri which hog my time like they were family or something. Oh. Right.
Anyway, we’ll see how this goes, maybe I will drop it like everything else. Maybe I won’t. Hmm. I think I will make it my goal next year, run a marathon. That sounds nice. I think I should give this more thought.
I was going through Blogger today because I remember starting some blogs waaay before Google purchased them. I was trying to remember what blogs I started under what logins… I had so many back then. I found two that I started, but I think I had more… oh well those are forever lost in the abyss that is the internet. Anyway, while in Germany, Ciriana and I were going to enter the Paris marathon and we began training a little less than a year before. I started this blog to document my training and weight loss. The funny part is that the blog stopped because the training sucked. We were running with Ciri’s unit in the wee hours of the winter mornings. Yup, running about 6 miles in 40 degree air, probably not good for your health. That’s really just an excuse, the truth is we decided we were too wimpy to run 25 miles. Check out my three posts though, it’s pretty funny. My First Marathon at Blogspot.com
The other blog was part of this site when it was under a different domain name. I used it as a photoblog. Just pictures, no words. It was a difficult thing to keep up with at the time because my computing resources were limited with my old Sony pc (Pentium 2 baby, oh yeah.) Things are easier with a P4 and a gig of memory. Yes, Photoshop takes 1 minute to load instead of 5! Anyway, I have two posts on that one as well. Check it out here: Photos of Europe.
I may integrate them into this site later, just because I like my old stuff. I wish I would have kept all the original posts from Dull Inspiration.com (or the mirror site: TheWorldIsMines.com), remember that site? Oh man, the memories… I didn’t know a lick of HTML back then, so you can imagine how hard it was to keep up with it. That’s what I liked about Blogger (then Blogspot), it was so easy to create posts and change the style of your site. I don’t think it was able to use a domain name without the blogspot.com thing, but it does now! I may go back to using it for some anonymous blogs I want to start.
I’ve been pretty ginger with my Zune 80 since I got it. Don’t touch it! Don’t look at it! Must keep it new, after all, it was a gift from my great governement via stimulus. Anyway, Belkin makes this nice looking acrylic case for Zune 80s that not only looks cool, but sounds like it will fit my style as well. Screens scratch sooo easily, especially with those plastic covers, so I didn’t want a leather case because of that. This hard case has a hard screen cover that will protect my screen from the elements and my stupidity. Although, some reviews say the cover’s screen will scratch somewhat easily, it’s not a big deal since the point is to protect the Precious. So, for all of you that just love giving me things… all two of you (?), may I suggest a Belkin Remix Acrylic Case?
I have been playing around with different plug ins that handle the photos for the site. I haven’t really found one that does everything I want, but I did find one that is close. I hope this solves many of my issues…
Izzy is doing great, we just had another appointment last week. She is now 6 pounds, 6 ounces! Almost double what she was at whens he was born! She is in great health and is progressing at the bottom 10% of the growing curve. Which is really good for a premie, they say.
Ciri and I have taken tons of pictures, but I have been trying to work out the photo album thing so I haven’t posted any. Well here are most of them, the rest will follow soon. I went back to using my 35mm camera so I have to wait for them to get developed.
Call me a sap, whatever, I really do love the whole world. Every little spec of life, every little memory we store away… it just makes you want to break out in song:
We watch the Discovery channel at home and when we were at the hospital we past the time watching Cash Cab and Myth Busters. Since we didn’t have our DVR at the hospital, we had to watch te commercials, I know it’s uncivilized but what can you do. Actually, it wasn’t too bad because I saw the commercial above and it almost made me cry. Whatever, I am a pansy when it comes to the planet; it really is awesome.
