I’ve been a Final Fantasy fan since the Super Nintendo days, but I really became a FF Geek with FF7, like most FF fans.   Unfortunately, the last FF game I’ve been able to play was FFX-2, the first video game sequel Squareenix made.   Growing up and raising a family will do that to a man.

Anyway, today I saw this via The Brothers Brick: Lego Minifigs of the Final Fantasy X-2 cast!   Now, the minifigs (mini-figures for you non-lego fans) are actually just photoshop renders, but from what I read the detail will be accurate on the printed decals.

Big problems on the eastern front.   So, this past week I have been home with Izzy.   It’s been a combination of things.   Izzy was kinda sick a couple of days, the baby-sitter’s kid was sick one day, then finally, the babysitter herself was sick.   I have been picking up Izzy from the babysitter after work because Ciriana has been working late.   Every time I picked her up, the babysitter and I would talk about stuff and I would leave.   I didn’t really get a bad vibe from her.   Well, last Tuesday afternoon she sends an email to Ciriana yammering about how we were rude to her and insulter her.   Wednesday she sends another similar email and Ciriana calls me Wednesday afternoon saying she just got these emails and if she has said anything to me.   I was floored, I never realized she felt hurt by us!   The emails were so surprising and sharp that we decided to let her go.   Someone that cannot talk to me about how they feel while they are taking care of my kid… should not be taking care of my kid.

So, I am at home taking care of Izzy.   We were trying to find someone that wold replace the previous babysitter, but we thought about it and we decided that it would be better for Izzy if one of us stayed at home.   Since Ciriana is still bound by contract, it is up to me to take care of the munchkin.   I will be going on unpaid leave for the next couple of months or until Ciri can get released from the army.   Yup, I will be the at-home Dad!   Yay!   Sort of.   Money will be tight… but you don’t need to hear about that!

Anyway, so it’s been a bit crazy around here but now that we have decided a route for ourselves, things should simmer down a bit.   Just wanted to get   quasi-quick update out there.   By the way, anybody got some work from home jobs they know about?

She just keeps getting bigger and bigger!   I need to write an important post about recent events.   I just don’t have the time right now.   Tomorrow.

XBox Elite

When the next-gen consoles came out years ago, I knew I was going to get a Nintendo Wii, then Revolution.   Nintendo is a staple in my home, it was the other two I was stuck on.   Should I get a Xbox 360 or the PS3?   At first I was totally into the PS3 mainly because of the Blu-ray drive (HD-DVD is crap, I called it years ago.), but the 360 was released earlier than the PS3 and had a bunch of great games.   So for the past couple of years, I’ve been torn.

E3, Electronic Entertainment Expo, has come and gone.   Lots of cool stuff is coming out for both systems, video streaming, Final Fantasy XIII, and much more.   Most importantly, to me anyway, is FF XIII and the video streaming.   We have a Netflix account that allow us to watch movies online, but I don’t have my PC hooked up to a TV or a sound system, so I really don’t use it.   Well, Netflix announced that they will stream these movies to the Xbox!   That is a seriously cool deal.   On top of the already cool fact that the Xbox will act as a media pc for my home theater, now it will play videos “on-demand!”

I think I made up my mind.   The PS3 is a sweet machine, but for me, I think I will have to go to the dark side and pick up an xbox 360.   Also, to match my current system, I think I am going with the black 360.   Hmm, the Xbox Elite is the only block console…   at $450!   Wow, well I guess I should start saving up…
