WordCamp RDU gets cancelled four days prior

See what happens when I get excited? I just checked my feeds for the day and found out that the Wayne Sutton, the guy coordinating WordCampRDU, had to cancel the whole thing, just days before the actual event. I’m sure the poor dude tried everything he could, but I guess it wasn’t enough.
There is a Charlotte WordCamp in the works for November, and I really want to attend some conference this year. Although, Charlotte is a good two/three hour drive from here. It might not be worth it to drive out that far when we are trying to save money for a trip back to California next June.
We’ll see how everything goes. I am totally bummed out, though.
Yes, I’m sorry about the cancellation, I was working on too many other projects and really wanted someone from Automattic to attend, I got word last week they couldn’t send anyone and wanted the event to be successful.
Already someone has agreed to take over planning WordCampRDU for 2009 so all is not lost. I apologize for the short notice again and hope to meet up with you soon one day.
I’m going to make the event in Charlotte and I think it’s going to be a good one.
