There’s more to the dynamics than I’m describing – there are old people that don’t learn as quickly as younger people do. Doctor’s seem to be resistant to technology by design. And the rest of them feel that it’s more work than it’s worth to learn these new techniques. In the end, they are all afraid of change. For people like us, these changes are easy because they’re exciting and fun. I love coming up with solutions for people. Solutions usually mean change.
Anyway, this place has been in business for over 20 years and I imagine how much paper they’ll save with this new software. A ton of paper is an awesome feat!
I’ll give them a few months before they realize that this is easier and i was right. Won’t do me much good at that point except for the simple satisfaction that I left them better off.

I hear you, man. I spent 5 years working to get a company as paperless as possible and while saw all the stuff that needed to get done, it was hard dealing with the fact you can’t just change cold turkey.

I’m of a mind that says you work hard at planning the system, and when it’s done (and tested), you apply it full force and go from there. If you spend too much time living in both worlds shit gets lost and you don’t gain anything.

In the end the company got a lot more paperless, but far from what I knew they could have achieved if they had believed in what was going on.

One fun thing I did those was write a paper counter into the applications that tracked how many sheets of paper was being saved. The one application has been in place for a little over 3 years and right now the counter says that about 152884 sheets of paper have been saved – and that’s a LOW estimate. That’s over a ton of paper.

People like us that are “masters” will never learn patience because we know we’re always right If only everyone else knew that…

Hey first I would like to say that I am happy to see that there are more peoples who are interested in coin designing and because I am also starting to design the coins but I have a question what kind of program do you used to design the coin after it has been design on the paper because I try most of the programs and have trouble with them I would be really happy f you can help me out Because my first coin design is for my wife and it’s first time I am trying to design a coin so I would be happy to know how to make my paper design into coin. Thanks Ps: Your coin designs and ideas are very good. And I think a coin can be design in every shape and form peoples just have to have a ideas.

Thanks for the tip. I actually never thought that “easy” could be used in place of Izzy. It makes sense, but we’ll play it by ear. By the time she reaches the age when other kids calling her “Easy-Izzy” she’ll be smart enough to change her nickname or retialiate (in a peaceful, non-aggressive way, of course!).

I have to say, though, I really like Isa. We would pronounce it, “Ee-ssah” with our Mexican accent. Ciriana has used that one a few times, I believe.

Again, with our mexican accent, we actually call Jonas, “Yoh-nahs.” “Yon” is ok, but it’s missing the beauty that “Izzy” has. People can make fun of names all they want, it doesn’t mean the name is any less beautiful. Ciriana is a beautiful name, and yet my wife was made fun of all her childhood years. No. I’m looking for something that “pops.” “Yon” is good, and we may end up with that, but i’m still looking for that “perfect” nick name.

Hey, I think that Iza/Isa, when pronounced European-like (eg. German-like, Dutch-like or so), would be way nicer to address your lil’ girl, Juan. I’m Izabela (without double ‘l’) myself, live in EU and everybody calls me this way, which I find pretty okay and nice (+ short and very ‘matter-of-fact’, if can say so). On the other hand, that all Izzy and other, say, ‘cute’ forms are totally not appealing to me and at times I even find them discouraging. Izzy sounds exact same as ‘easy’, just like you wrote above – so it basically means that other kids e.g. at school, can label your girl and call her ‘easy’, which I don’t think clever particularly if you’re female. Would sound ‘lame’ for a teen girl, so please think of it this way. My suggestion would be starting to accustom her to that Iza or Isa better, but ‘heaven forbid’ pronounced in a ‘typisch’ English/American way, like ‘Ay-za’, which sounds literally awful.

As regards the other name you mentioned here, the very nice idea would be addressing your boy with a full name Jonas and not a nick, but in a German/Scandinavian way. Eventually Jon – but also Scandinavian-like. (So you could simply replace the first English consonant ‘j’ with English ‘y’, so that the sound would be ‘Yonas’/’Yon’ when pronounced). It sounds much better this, say, ‘harder’ way, than English-like + your lil’ kid’s name won’t be associated that often with Jonas Bros any more.

if u wanna be a teacher bro, then more power to ya. after workn elementary for 8 years and now workin middle school i can tell u it has its up and definitely has its downs. i see it every day. it doesnt take much to be a teacher but it does take a lot to be good at it. of course, im talkin bout here in southern califas. maybe its different where u live. practically all my friends are teachers or work in education and they all hav that 1 thing in common: they dont quit. u keep that mentality and youll be fine. having a cold beer after work helps too.

Thanks, I’m trying to be all SEO and stuff. Other than the typical SEO reasons, it does look a lot neater and easier to read, doesn’t it. Something that I will try and do more often… that is when I get a chance to write something. ;D
