Lich King is out… *Drools*

Lich King

Lich King

Here I am, sitting at my computer again, virtual-window shopping.   I’m staring at the new expansion for World of Warcraft like some little kid hoping that an onlooker will feel bad for me and buy it for me.   Damn online shopping…

Seriously, I would like to get my hands on a copy, but I am in no hurry.   I play the game for the story and the adventure – which is a nice way of saying I am not level 70 yet.   I started playing around April of last year and my main character, Odium, is currently at level 47.   I have two or three characters in the mid thirties as well, but none of them are as fun, to me, as my Rogue (hence, RogueDad.   Sneaky sneaky).   I would be level 70 by now, but I have other commitments in life, that and I am slow…

So because I am such a low level, I can’t take part in much of the new content.   Although, the recent patch introduced enough content and features to keep me happy.

Just out of curiosity, though, I logged in last night to see how the world was doing and I was really hoping to catch my first glimpse at the new class, the Death Knights.   I got on the zeppelin to Kalimdor and there’s a crazy lookin’ blood elf on her mount standing at the front, all dressed in black.   “Gasp” and “Rawr!”   Death Knights are awe-some (especially female blood elves)!

The new patch and expansion introduced some new elements to the storyline as well as tons of other cool stuff, so I am really excited to see how this whole “war against the Burning Legion” turns out.   Until I reach level 70 and our finances pick up again, Wrath of the Lich King will have to wait.   That is, unless, someone would like to sponsor me… ;)

“Your Wiimote isn’t Bluetoothing Enough”

Nov 11 2008 Published by JuanO under Blog

A conversation with Ciri earlier today while I was playing Mario Kart Wii:

Me: “Ack. Freaking Wiimote isn’t responding and I keep running into walls!”

Ciri: “Well, are you pointing it at the screen?”

Me:”It doesn’t work like that, it’s wireless.   Ack.   See?!   It did it again!”

Ciri: “Well, then maybe you should try recalibrating it.”

Me: “No. No. No.   Just… there isn’t really a calibration for it… ack.   Dammit… I think it’s the batteries.”

Ciri: “No, it’s not the batteries.   It’s your Bluetooth, it’s not calibrated.   I’m telling you.”

Me: “Bluetooth is either connected or not, there is NO CALIBRATION!   Son of a b$%^h!”

Ciri: “See?   Your Wiimote isn’t bluetoothing enough.

This is my wife.   She knows everything.   I can’t believe that I never thought that my Wiimote wasn’t bluetoothing enough, it’s SO simple!

Next time, before I change the batteries, I’ll verify that my Wiimote is at the right Bluetoothng level.

Game Boy DSi announced!

Game Boy DSi

Game Boy DSi

I was browsing my feeds before I hit the hay and I see in big bright letters, “Nintendo Announces Nintendo DSi!”

I’ve been following the Nintendo forums and blogs, many of them full of rumors and talk over a redesign/update to the DS.   The DS Fanboy blog is full of great info and they just dropped this bomb a few hours ago.

There is a conference in Japan this week where Nintendo is releasing this info to the public, called Nintendo Media Summit.   DS Fanboy was invited to the event and posted today’s events.   IGN is also on hand at the event, and were live blogging the conference.

My favorite feature is the enhanced displays; three and a quarter inches of video game love!   The new DS also sports TWO digital cameras (external and internal), SD slot, on-board memory, and much much more!   Oh yeah, the new DS doesn’t have a GBA slot, so no more Game Boy Advanced games.   Good thing I still have my SP!

Price point sounds like it will be about $180 this November (in Japan…).   I can’t wait to trade my DS in for this bad boy. Hmm. Sounds like a new addition to my wishlist!

Another great update from the summit is actually for the Wii.   The Wii will soon be able to load software directly from the SD card.   The down side: maximum memory for the SD slot is 2 GBs.

Keep an eye on DS Fanboy, Wii Fanboy, and IGN for more info!   Also, check out the Japanese site for the DSi!
